Re: Waterproof mattress protectors and fly stains on towels

I personally would not recommend using anything that is plastic lined. they make too much noise. Makes for a "cheap" experience. Use a Tencel or a terry-cloth one. I understand there are some which use organic based materials too. I expect you can find something on the Jungle website or fr...

Re: Argh - stink bugs!

With the soap/water spray you can clean them up after they have been drenched. They maybe still alive, but throwing them away straight away will help keep things cleaner. The same with the surfaces, just a wipe down. It will remove the adults from the life cycle. I suppose with the constantly warmer...

Re: Argh - stink bugs!

The bugs are not a danger to anyone. But guest do not appreciate them I would not vacuum them up in case they die and start to stink. The odour is not pleasant. I suppose the best way to control these, like most unwanted insects, it to spray them with a water/washing up liquid mix. I would also look...

Re: Booking.com commission overpayment

Never had experience of this before. However, as I see it you have two options. Escalate the complaint with Booking. Second option is complain to the bank. The complaint with the bank will depend on what sort of payment agreement you have with Booking. If you feel cheeky enough do both at the same t...

Do not take images of ID cards or passports.

A tourist accommodation in Barcelona has been fined for asking the guests to send an image of their ID cards. The accommodation used an online booking in system. This is in Spanish. https://www.economistjurist.es/actualidad-juridica/sancionada-con-75-000-euros-una-empresa-de-alquiler-turistico-que-p...

The Telegraph's advice about purchasing a holiday rental in the UK

The newspaper has published this article. Some of you may find it helpful others will find it a bit of a joke. I like reading the comment section for the best laughs.

Re: charging electric vehicles

Being in Spain the legality is you cannot install a home charger and resell the electricity. Maybe read this. It depends on what installations you have in the house as to whether guests will be able to charge their vehicles. It will take a long time to fully recharge. https://www.endesa.com/es/blog/...

Re: Is Dorset-uk.info a legitimate OTA?

I would water mark your images on any OTA. with something like "Property name and the OTA" Thus you can see where you and prospective clients can see where businesses details have been copied from. OTAs do not like property websites to be water marked but when the water mark is the OTA I h...
