Oh Kathy....its a dilemma isn't it and when you do sell of course it's natural that the happy memories and the positives are in your thoughts. Everything will feel raw for you at the moment but gradually your emotions will adapt. You've had the experience of owning a beautiful property that gave a l...

Yes we had a very awkward neighbour that upset us in the first few years of renting. I think there's even a thread I started on LMH asking for advice. With him it was an (unreasonable) noise issue (we ensured always that neighbours weren't troubled by guests noise). He did allsorts of nasty tricks a...

Although I didn't get many enquiries from TA, because their commission on top of my prices really made us expensive, I would always quote the real price on my reply but say the price quoted by TA would be more expensive as of course that was the commission they charged. It was my way of making sure ...

I would recommend Howdens. It's reasonable quality and price. They also do their own appliances which are competitively priced. They only work through tradespeople I think, so your kitchen fitter/chippy would have to purchase but they have a wide choice of styles and colour. We have just had a Howde...

Yes good luck Apex! Hope it all goes well for you both. Everyone involved in this business deserves their retirement! I still marvel at not having to worry about guests or grapple with changeovers in 80% humidity! GB totally understand where you are. We were a bit like that with our sale, we didn't ...

Thanks Isy, n&p and pw! And Mols....yes, you're so right about the timing! I sometimes get short of breath when I think how it could have gone. It was so close. All's going well so far thanks. We are having a house built in the Dales and hopefully moving in this September. Even with lockdown we ...

Masks are to be worn everywhere bar the beach when sunbathing or doing sports, also when eating or drinking.

The heat and humidity there is awful in summer without a mask so I can't imagine it being very comfortable.

Agree with the others....comfy setting is expected now and depending what price bracket you are in also dictates the quality level I think. Kettle is an upmarket brand, great stuff but expensive. In Ibizan we had the plastic rattan effect outdoor stuff. It was left out constantly and is great. It is...

Have to agree with CSE. I had granite worktops and bleach was no problem. I also tended to use those kitchen wipes too....anti bacterial. No issues.

I also had unpolished marmol in some of the bathrooms....again I used bleach on occasion (more normally bathroom cleaner).

Hi Gems....just seen this and wanted to say that some friends of ours had a Friday arrival day with their 2nd villa on Ibiza and had no trouble filling it over the years they rented it out. I think it can depend on the property. If its attractive enough people will go along with a non-Saturday arriv...

Its the desire for power and control over sense. Mr M is currently being paid via the Spanish furlough scheme. The co he works for is in tourism. If they don't extend the state of emergency then the likelihood is the furlough payments will stop. Yet his company can't go back to earning any income as...

Thanks Andrew. I know a lot of my enquiries via those sites came direct. Of course I did get a few who didn't see the hints or preferred to go via the website, which is fair enough.
Direct guests often couldn't believe the 100's of £'s difference in price.
