Re: New Guest Logging Requirements
As I understand it, we must submit guests' details online to the Guardia Civil within 1 day of their arrival. There is also a requirement for adult guests to complete and sign a form which contains pretty much the same information. The forms must be kept by the owner and may be inspected by the Guar...

Re: charging electric vehicles
Thanks. I don't know much about these things, but is there anything to physically stop guests from just hooking into your domestic supply?

charging electric vehicles
I'm trying to consider ways of approaching an issue which I think will inevitably arise sometime soon, if not earlier. Maybe others have had to deal with it already. It is simply the question of how to respond to guests who drive electric vehicles. What are the options? Understandably, if you have o...

BC and damage deposits
The question of whether or not to require damage deposits raises a number of issues for both owners and guests. VRBO offer to do this on your behalf inasmuch as they will pre-authorise a specified amount but not actually debit the money from the guest until and unless there is a claim. What happens ...

subscribe to a forum 'board'?
Not even sure what the correct term for this is, but I wondered if it's possible to subscribe to a specific section, or board, of the forum? I know you can subscribe to individual topics, but I'd like to get notifications of new posts to, say, the Spain board. Can this be done?

Re: travelling with pets
Many thanks and I can see now how to subscribe to a specific topic/thread. I had already configured my profile to send notifications by email. I can't, however, find a way to subscribe to, for example, the Spain 'forum' (if that's the correct term) and it seems like the buttons at the bottom of that...

Re: travelling with pets
You're quite right and I guess we're just going to have to bite the bullet and get UK docs every time we travel. It's not even the case that we can blame the Spanish vets who issued the EU pet passport because I don't think they knew about the issue any more than we did. NB: apologies for the late r...

Re: travelling with pets
Ah well, thanks for the replies and it looks like this is yet another Brexit bonus that I could well do without.
I guess the only question is how rigorously the rules will be applied. The prospect of taking a chance on that, however, is not a comfortable one...

travelling with pets
We travel to Spain with our cat a couple of times a year to stay in our house when it's not being rented out. We don't have residencia. Like many others, we found that the rules re pet travel had changed post-Brexit. A UK vet would need to fill in an umpteen-page document and charge - in our case - ...

I'm sorry and, yes, I should have added that I wasn't expecting anyone here to be advocating a legally binding statement. Opinions, of course, are just that and I appeciate the efforts that people make, and the research that you and others undertake, in order to get closer to the truth. In this case...

So, excuse me being a bit of a diddy, but are we saying now that the energy certificate is not required in the case of, for example, a single rental apartment or villa? I accept that it may well be required if/when you come to sell the property, but I'm just trying to get a a handle on how urgent th...

Thanks for the reminder about the energy certificate and, yes, I did read that thread. It'll have to wait until we're back in Spain, though. As you say, it's possible that one exists already. We bought the place 5 years ago so I'll need to check with the gestor first. When we originally opened our S...

Just thought I'd just add an update to this issue. Further enquiries reveal that our gestor has, in fact, arranged for this tax to be paid. It comes out of our account on the 31st December each year and, in all honesty, we thought it was a charge levied by the bank as it is labelled as a 'non-reside...
