We have slate in one of converted barns , looks like its always been there . Personally i think if it adds to the charm and is original you should go with it.

Good point also if your paying council tax on just the house surely the banding should go down as it's rated for the whole property

Hi were in the middle of buying a place in Somerset and i have a question about business rates . Does anybody have a business where they're living in a house on the property , will the business rates cover the house and cottages or will i have to have council tax on the house and regs on the cottages.
