Caro - Tim explained that it's just the main site that we can't access. Everyone should be able to access the site on which their property is registered "Beachside Holiday Cottages" or whatever. I do think they are trying and at least its not a scam. They haven't run off with my money. Tha...

Cottage CoOperative

I just heard back from them. They are upgrading the website which is why, Tim Steinlet (tim@thecottagecooperative.co.uk) says I cannot access the site.
Tim also tells me they are "going from strength to strength".

I can't get the site to load either. I emailed them to ask if they'd gone bust - four days ago, no reply yet..... I joined after a conversation on LMH a few months ago. They actually replied to my comments and I said I'd give them a try. January is the busiest time of year, I have found, for new boo...

I like GillianF's idea too but Fleur agree with you that it will leave a bad taste and I shall still run the risk of a less-than-complimentary review. I think I'll simply return their deposit and put their email on my blacklist. Thanks everyone for your advice.

Happy New Year!

I used to be that untidy English guest. Not because I'm untidy but I felt it was being cleaned anyway and had been used to hotel standards. Not sure when I realised my error but needless to say, I don't behave like that anymore. Guest in my property are advised to leave the place as they find it. Y...

House in"a right state"

Hi. My housekeeper just reported back on the state my cottage has been left after Christmas guests. You all know what I mean - bins overflowing, including dirty nappies, mess over every floor, fridge full of food, ovens both filthy ... you get the gist. I do hold a "breakages deposit" but ...

Ok Riverside I will take a punt on this with my two cottages in Cornwall. I'll let you all know how it's going because I know we really need a decent site and it could be this one. The marketing needs to be looked at and, especially, Search Engine Optimisation. I've just begun to get the flurry of A...

Oh, apologies. There are so many postings it's difficult to find everything. I should have done a search of the name.
Still, it would be interested to know if any member has experience of the site, good or otherwise.

Owners website - thecottagecooperative.co.uk ?

I just found this site. OK it's small now but could they do the job some of us have been hoping for? Has anyone any experience of them?
Only costs £24pa to have a go on one of their sites but unfortunately (for some LMH members) they currently cover only UK, Ireland and Canaries.

Thanks Andrew. Yep ripped off and I realised WAY too late. It really began with the engineer who told me all sorts of nonsense about the house (new build to the letter) like the staircase not being wide enough. Stupidly I paid him a fake love for that and somethings went from bad to worse. Still lov...

Why doesnt one of us just start our own Lettings site? There seem to be enough members on the forum here all over the world. Surely there's someone out there who would be glad to set up a site with lots of LMH members to kickstart it? - not me!

Until last year I had a Greek letting cottage. I tried to pay tax but unless you are registered with the tourist board (EOT) there is no way, my accountant told me, that the Greek tax authorities can decide what I should pay. I was completely ripped off paying out €10,000 to get the EOT licence and ...
