Newtimber, I do not believe that a PHP webpage can be written using HTML coding. PHP can be inside a HTML document, if the coding is correct. Even then normally, (again I believe) the code is used only for something like forms. However, with HTML5 this is outdated and on only has to use PHP to send...

Andy, may I ask whether you used an online web-builder for your sites? If so, which one and who does your hosting please? I don't use an online web builder I'm afraid I use a website development tool for Mac called Rapidweaver. It's a nice compromise for someone like me who has some web development...

For example, if you have a start date of Saturday 1st March you can book 2, 3 or 4 nights for the same price and then the number of nights you can select jumps straight up to 25.. You had me worried for a minute as it shouldn't allow a stay starting on Saturday but the 1st March is a Monday. Basica...

Looks generally OK but there is a slight glitch when I first go to the home page - it flashes a black background before the white background loads. Also, I would prefer to see the house and location first and the Covid-19 stuff taking second place. On my PC the first screenful is just the beach pho...

I'm interested in how you are managing to clean a 12 bed property with pets in such a short space of time in the Covid-19 era. Advise from VisitEngland etc says removed of all non-essential items etc and everything has to be cleaned and then disinfected and you have games rooms and are eco-friendly...

Website looks good and I like the Covid / cancellation updates. The booking system is easy to use but seems a little bit hit and miss. I had to refresh a few times after watching a spinning circle spin and spin. I was interested in how you have priced for parts of weeks but I'm finding the pricing ...

Looks good to me Andy. I think you've pitched it just right. Reassuring / informative. The master cancel sounds like a good idea - of course the test is always in the experience of the claim. If you don't mind, I may steal/borrow some of your wording of your terms and conditions about COVID. I don'...

Updated website (with SuperControl & Master Cancel)

Hi all, after years of manually taking direct bookings and asking for bank transfers I've finally signed up to use Super Control so that people can book direct on our website. We've also signed up for Master Cancel which gives us and our guest a bit of peace of mind hopefully in this Covid-19 era An...

Strange invoice from Sykes - plus data protection breach?

We've just received an invoice from Sykes for roughly £3,500 - after waiting on the phone for nearly an hour and finally speaking to someone they cant tell us what its for either. We also raised the issue that the last few months emails have gone unresponded to - someone looked into it and they said...

I use ftb but it is tricky to set up for short breaks. I don't pay to link Stripe, I just send a Wave invoice (which links to Stripe for payment) after they book. My PMP website will soon be offering online booking/payment facility (using Stripe) I believe so I am holding out for that to streamline...

Whilst I would love to see the type of thing you are talking about succeed the major difficulty is gaining exposure without spending lots and lots of cash. Everyone uses search engines to find what they want on the internet and unless your website is competing in those search results (be it organica...

No you're right of course. I have no doubt it would be a mammoth task to get any coverage without the Google Adwords budget for starters. And I don't have the internet skills to build anything good enough myself. It's more of an "if only" rather than a viable business proposition! It's am...
